Mariah Scofield - New Patient Coordinator

Mariah graduated from Lakeland High School in 1996 and received her dental radiation license from Old Dominion University. She began dental assisting 11 years ago in a practice in Suffolk, VA. This gave her a wonderful introduction to dentistry, based on professionalism and quality dental care.

After she married a Marine in 2000, they relocated to sunny Southern California. While there, she was blessed to work with an outstanding dental team in the San Diego area. She worked for a husband-and-wife who were committed to excellent care for their patients by ensuring everyone in the team was educated in the latest advances in dentistry. Among the courses she attended were Evolutionary Hygiene in Support of Aesthetic Dentistry at the Las Vegas Institute and Advanced Functional Posterior Aesthetics Program at the University of the Pacific. While working there, Mariah helped many patients regain health and confidence through enhanced smiles.

Over the years, Mariah has worked in several offices with many doctors, and because of her experiences, she has become very particular about the kind of office she wants to represent. Upon her return to Virginia, she was faced with choosing a new office. AWhen she found Dr. Cranham's office, she was extremely impressed with his commitment to continuing education, as the student and the teacher. She has been with Dr. Cranham's team since June of 2005 and enjoys every day. The most rewarding parts of her job are welcoming patients and making them feel comfortable. To bring patients the ultimate in care, she recently attended The Dawson Center's Functional Esthetics Seminar II, Dale Carnegies Effective Communication and Human Relations, and Occlusion and Function for Technicians and Assistants, as well as other continuing education courses.

When Mariah is not in the dental office her favorite thing to do is hang out with her husband and their puppy, Jeter (name for the great Yankees shortstop). She also enjoys cooking, gardening, and shopping!
